FAMILIES ARE FOREVER

All because we fell in love...

We created....

and now we are a...

I have a fantastic family. I was raised by wonderful parents who taught me right from wrong and good from bad, they taught me respect. They always let me spread my own wings to learn from my mistakes. They made me the person who I am today.
I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, cousin and friend!
Now that I have my own little family, I cherish every moment with them. I have a wonderful husband who I love with all of my heart and soul and two fantastic kids, and I would do anything for any of them at a drop of a hat.I have 3 great brothers and sister-in-laws, I have 4 nieces and 6 nephews whom I love dearly whether or not we all get along ( that is another story)
Now I know that families are not perfect and every family has issues, I know some are hard and some are easy. I have seen many families torn apart for one reason or another and I just wish they could all mend the fences and begin to be a family again.
I pray for these families that the healing can begin and they can be families again!!

Since yesterday was the beginning of the Chinese New Year she was offered the opportunity to earn extra credit by preparing a Chinese meal. So with the help of her wonderful mother and grandpa we put together a GREAT meal!!!

We made Mandarin Chicken....

Fried Rice...

Egg Rolls....

and last but not least Fortune Cookies (I bought these but don't tell)

And best of all we had a great time preparing dinner together!!!!

We bought him a bubble gum machine and silly string....

He could not wait to blow out the candle on his cake....

He got some money for his birthday too and when he opened the card the money fell out and as he was picking it up he said " Hey an old president". We were all laughing so hard then to top it off he told us he could name the presidents. " George Washington, Bush and Obama". he forgot a few but hey he is 5.

I love them

Have you ever wondered what you were thinking when you decided to have kids? Now that may sound wrong so please do not take it that way.
When your kids are little you cannot wait for them to cut their first tooth, to start to crawl, to take their first steps to say their first words,(which in my case they both learned to say NO).
Then as they get older, they learn to dress them selves feed them selves. Then before you know it they are TEENAGERS , they learn to drive, they date, they graduate from high school (well in a few months Jake will). At this time you want them to be little again.
Today has been a great day with my kids. Lindsee and I spent some mommy daughter time together(really be both took a nap but we were still together)We made some brownies ( she loves brownies).
While I was making dinner Jake was putting away the clean dishes and teasing me and his dad (which is no surprise). While we were sitting down to dinner Mr. Smarty Pants( AKA Jake) went and got a bottle of water an preceded to poor some down my back. I was expecting him to do something but I was not expecting ICE cold water down my back.
So all in all we had a fantastic day!!!

WOW

Today my parents celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. My parents of been such an inspiration to me. They have always let us spread our own wings and learn from our own mistakes. Over the years as I have grown in my own marriage I have also watched them grow and if at all possible I have watched them fall more in love. They are so funny to watch it is hard to explain but they have so much fun together. They still seem like newlyweds!

New Calling........

Today Lindsee was sustained and set apart as a counselor in the Mia Maid Class Presidency. This calling will be very good for her, it may even bring her out of her shell Lindsee has a very sweet spirit and as very strong testimony. If I ever have a down day or day day that I do not want to go to Church all I need to do is look at her and she says "come on mom we need to go to church" and that is all it takes. Lindsee has served in Class Presidencies before and has done a fantastic job, and I know she will this time as well. Now I just need to get her to work on her personal progress!!!

JROTC Dinner Dance

Jeff and I had the opportunity tonight to chaperon the JROTC Dinner dance. It was a blast, brought us back to our crazy teenage years (not that we were ever wild or anything). It is so much fun to see these Cadets having such a great time where they can let there hair down and relax. They are so much fun to watch dance. Colonel and Master Sergeant even get into the fun. The cadets dance with each other and their dates of course they love to be goofy and like I said they are fun to watch and be around.Jake is on the color guard team so he and his team presented the colors tonight. I am so proud of Jake and the respect that he has for the flag every time I see him dressed in his Class A uniform it brings tears to my eyes.I could go on all night about this evening but I won't because I will just bore you to death!
There were two Army recruiters there tonight as well and they even took Jeff and I for a ride in their brand new H3. It was fun, I guess you could say Jeff and I let our hair down tonight too. (Jeff does not have much hair).Once again Jeff was in charge of the camera and this time I only got 75 pictures. Good thing I am going to learn to scrapbook.
(sorry about the long slide show)

Lucky..

I am not a lucky person. It seems like anything and everything that could go wrong to me always does. Now Jeff on the other hand has been very lucky the pas year.If I gambled I would take him with me.
In December of 2007 Jeff won a 32 inch plasma TV at work in their monthly drawing.
He has won 3.. I repeat 3 $50 gas cards WHOO HOO, and he has won a Foosball table. All if this within the last year. It seems like every time they have a drawing at RC Willey he wins.

My favorite...

This is one of my favorite poems. I know that our Heavenly Father is always there when we need him even if we think he is not. I know that all of us have our struggles in life some are easy and some are hard.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed He was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from His life. For each scene He noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonging to Him and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of His life flashed before Him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of His life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of His life.

This really bothered Him and He questioned the LORD about it. LORD you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.

The LORD replied, my precious, precious child, I Love you and I would never leave you! During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

What do you think..

What do you think of our new blog header???
We love it!!!

Welcome 2009

So much happened in 2008 I could not possibly post it all.
Some of the good things that happened are Jeff was promoted at work he is now in Loss Prevention also non as security for RC Willey. He still works part time for UPS. I know I work him to death but UPS has great insurance and we could not survive with out it. Jeff works very hard for our family and we really do appreciate everything he does for us.
I had 2 minor surgeries in 2008 one to remove a cyst on my foot and the other was a minor bladder surgery. You know what having kids does to your body. gotta love em!!! I love my job and have a WONDERFUL staff, they work hard and do a GREAT job!!
Jake and Lindsee are just kids.. busy busy busy!!!
We also had family pictures taken for the first time since Lindsee was 5 so about 10 years. We had such a great time having these pictures taken, we went up Butterfield Canyon and had a wonderful time, we laughed so hard it was just fun!!! With these family pictures they all turned out so good I could not decide on just one to frame and to give as Christmas Gifts. So I have good friend from High School who's wife does scrapbooking well I just sent her the pictures and asked her to come up with something. Well Liberty did a great job and this is what she came up with!!! I know I already have it posted but I love it so much I have to post it again.

I will be having Liberty do more work for me in the future!!!
SO with 2009 off to a great start. We have so much to look forward too. Jake graduates in June, I will have lost 100 pounds, Jeff you never know what will happen with him. Lindsee will get her drivers license ( watch out every one!!!). On September 22, 2009 Jeff and I will celebrate of 20th wedding anniversary, where does time go??? My nephew leaves on his Mission in February. My Uncle Mike starts his new calling as Mission President over Temple square. Wow a lot going on.
